NISAR Level-2 GIFs
Building on the previous post, we show how easy it is to update our Sentinel-1 GIF generator to point at NASA's NISAR collections to create similar backscatter and coherence GIFs on our EarthOne platform.
This update required minimal changes:
1. Use NISAR frame IDs instead of Sentinel-1 burst IDs.
2. Use hh polarization as the default for NISAR backscatter as opposed to vv for Sentinel-1.
3. Use NISAR catalog product IDs instead of Sentinel-1 product IDs.
4. Update value range for backscatter to use linear units instead of dB.
Shown below is a GIF of 12-day coherence over a Solar Farm under construction in Saudi Arabia. The coherence layer is read in directly from GUNW products. The current beta product stack only has 3 scenes, but the strength of EarthOne API's and quality of NISAR data over this arid environment is clear to see.
